Hello! Welcome Bookworm’s Treehouse!
I’m Dusty and I am so thrilled that you’ve stopped by. This is a place where I will strive to share my love of literacy with others.
Books are so important to the lives of children.
They were an integral part of my own childhood and when I became a parent, I knew that I wanted to create a home where books filled shelves, stories flowed freely, and imaginations grew big as the sky.
We are a homeschooling family and so it seemed natural to have books filling shelves, poised to be opened at a moment’s whim. It is our family culture.
My husband and I have been married for eleven years and have five children.
Life is full of busy, and messy, and love.
Books play an important role in it all.
In 2014 when I decided to become an Usborne Books & More consultant, it seemed like a great decision that would earn me a discount on books that I was already collecting to supplement our homeschool. It was a great decision. In fact, it was life-changing.
What began as a small venture turned into a career and has blessed our family immensely. We went from living paycheck to paycheck to finding financial stability.
One day I’ll tell the full story, but for now, let me share that I am so thankful that a love of books could not only enrich our family, but become a career. It’s even a career that I could pair with my former profession–blogging.
This site is a place where I plan to share all the ways we love books in our home. From crafts to literacy resources to printables to help young learners, I want to help families grow their love of reading too.
